Provision
“Provision” - Also known as “Helen’s Prayer”
My friend Helen was having a moment in prayer outside of her home last winter. She was talking to the Lord, asking Him, “Lord, are you going to take care of me?” As she was having this conversation, a moose walked up behind her and tucked its nose right up into her hair, right over her shoulder. She felt the breath from its nose first and slowly turned to see this enormous animal standing peacefully by her! She retreated quickly but when I heard her story, I was impressed with the unique way that God answered her question that day. A moose is a sign of provision, of not just food but a resource. I took Helen’s testimony as a real confirmation of God’s care and concern for her and I was so blessed by it that I felt moved to paint an approximation of her story.
